Receiving Pit

Right out of the field, nuts are unloaded into a receiving pit, where they are stored until processing

Durability and ease of maintenance are top priorities in the design of the receiving pit. It is constructed with concrete, heavy duty beams, and round pipe. The pit liner is designed to “drop in” for ease of cleaning and maintenance. All associated cross conveyors and elevators are built to withstand the abuse associated with harvest season. Standard and custom sizes available.

Desticker

Removes sticks, loose hulls, and large debris from nuts to increase plant capacity and performance, and minimize wearing of equipment.

Coming out of the field nuts can be cluttered with large sticks and branches which could potentially harm the rest of the machinery. Nuts are introduced onto a chain which allows nuts and small items to fall through while carrying away large sticks and debris. The chain is under constant agitation to knock all existing nuts off the branches and dislodging any stuck nuts to reduce the waste of product.

Tempered steel rods attached to reinforced rubber belting provides a gentle and durable belt. Heavy wall tubing and robust drive components provide years of trouble free processing. The desticker is available in varying sizes to fit plant capacity.

Trash Aspirator

Removes leaves, loose hulls, smaller sticks, and other light weight trash from the product to increase equipment efficiency.

The trash aspirator effectively removes trash that is lighter than the nuts. Aspiration levels can be manually adjusted  for varying nut conditions, this makes it easier to wash and hull the nuts that can later clog up the equipment.

Can be fed by a conventional belt or with a rod style belt to remove small pieces of dirt and hull increasing the cleaning capacity of the Trash Aspirator.

Pre-Cleaner

Allows loose hulls, smaller dirt, and debris to fall away from nuts which decreasing to the equipment down the line while simultaneously increasing capacity.

Rod Belt

The Rod Belt Precleaner drops out small debris while keeping the walnuts moving down the line. Tempered steel rods attached to reinforced rubber belting provides a durable and gentle way to pre-clean your product. It is designed to be easy to repair, maintain and service.

Rotary

The Rotary Precleaner consists of a cylindrical cage which rotates to separate the nuts from debris. Powerful drive components and durable construction equip this equipment for many seasons of processing.

Float Tank

Removes rocks and heavy debris from the good nut product by sinking the trash and allowing nuts to float through.

Powder coated internal components resist rust and wear. Large clean-out door on sides with access to bearings on lower end of trash elevator. Large drain valve allows quick draining of dirty water. Pre-plumbed with quick fill valve and regulated float valve to maintain water level during operation.

Bypass

Why send nuts without hulls through a huller?

Each Huller Bypass comes with different sized grilles for different varieties of nuts. Nuts without hulls are smaller and fall through the grille to be sent past the huller while the nuts with hulls continue toward the huller. This process results in a significant increase plant capacity and less nut breakage in the huller.

Huller

Removes hulls (green husks) from outside of a nut’s shell.

DR Series Rotary Huller

High speed rotary brush, and stationary knife surface the DR Series can maintain high production volumes throughout the harvest season. Available in various widths.

R12 Huller

The R12 Huller has stood the test of time. This design has been operating for over 60 years. Although it maintains the same basic configuration as the original, the huller has been refined for the needs of the industry.

The huller has a built in washer cage and is powered by a single motor. The R12 features hardened steel knives, and an easy adjustment system.

Washer/Cleaner

A two-step process that washes and cleans nuts of any excess trash before drying.

Rod Belt

The Rod Belt Washer drops out small debris while keeping the walnuts moving down the line. Tempered steel rods attached to reinforced rubber belting provides a durable and gentle way to convey and wash your product. It is designed to be easy to repair, maintain and service.

Rotary

Washer and Cleaner units have cylindrical cages that rotate to separate the nuts from debris. Powerful drive components and durable construction equip this equipment for many season of processing.

Finish Aspirator

Removes light weight or substandard product before sorting.

A Vibratory Table feeds product into the Finish Aspirator in a way that allows the high velocity stream of air to extract lightweight or blank  nuts. The adjustable aspiration level picks out nuts that will likely not be removed by a visual inspection. This improves the overall finish grade of the nuts.

The Finish Aspirator features welded steel, reinforced ducting, and top of the line blowers and components ensure that it will provide years of trouble free performance.

Sorting Table

Used at the end of the line to make sure that nothing besides your nuts can get through to the drying stages.

A perfect and safe for removing the very last bit of unwanted debris in your crop. The Sorting Table uses a Prestoflex conveyor and can be purchased in numerous lengths and widths.

Air Knife

Utilizing the output air of the Finish Aspirator, Jets of air are blown over the nuts as they pass off the sorting table on their way to the drying bins. This eliminates excess water on the outside of the walnut shell that would otherwise be dried off later, reducing drying time. In addition the Distribution system is kept dryer which reduces the chance of belts slipping.
